I woke up too early this morning

For reasons known only to my limbic system, I woke up way too early this morning, about 45 minutes before sunrise. I'm actually glad I did, because this was gorgeous:

I did get back to sleep, fortunately. Incidentally, this was the scene almost exactly 8 hours earlier, looking west:

And just a few minutes before that, Cassie was very happy to be home after an hour-long car ride:

Cassie is about to be happy again as dinner is imminent.
