It's really nice up here in the middle of Wisconsin 9 km from the nearest expressway. After the sun set, the wind almost completely stopped, making the lake into a mirror:

Cassie is having as much fun as the humans. We took a 3 km walk this morning. Despite eating so much grass that she puked in the middle of the road, she enjoyed every second of it:

She's also enjoying the deck, and the breeze:

Of course, being this deep into farm country has its hazards, particularly with the sun rising at 5:15 am: roosters. It appears that there are a bunch of them directly across the lake from us, which is a problem because (a) the lake is only 300 meters wide, (b) the roosters woke up at first light, around 4:30 am, and (c) there are no other sounds around here that early. Between that and Cassie wanting to go outside to smell the world as soon as she heard things going on out there, the last two hours of my sleep were not great and I finally gave up on it around 6:30.
Tonight: fire pit, s'mores, and apparently a lovely bottle of prosecco.
