I rearranged my desk this morning, which involved four monitors, a mini desktop box, and a laptop, so it was a non-trivial exercise that took about 90 minutes. That time doesn't include the trip to MicroCenter to get the Mini-DP to HDMI cable I am pretty sure I have in storage, plus a medium-sized USB memory stick.
I accidentally got a FireWire-to-HDMI converter, so at some point I will have to go back to MicroCenter to return it. That took just over an hour. Oh well, I've wasted more time on less important activities, and the 64 GB USB stick works just fine.
When I get the proper cable (which I just ordered for same-day delivery from Amazon because it was $15 including tax and delivery), I will have 4 monitors available to my personal box, of which the smallest has an HDMI connection for laptops as well.
Meanwhile, as the temperature continues to hit the mid-30s, Cassie is getting hour-long walks before 8am every day this week. And still it was 27°C when we went out early this morning. Fortunately the dewpoint isn't tropical, and the heat wave should break...someday?
France has it worse right now, including a wildfire that has burned 2,000 ha (5,000 acres) in the Fontainebleau Forest.
